The Service

The National Park Service has been an integral part of my creative journey since childhood. I officially interned at Mesa Verde National Park in 2016 and currently work at Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is woven in the fabric of Los Angeles, California. A rich cultural history and stunning mountains that plunge into the ocean are what help make my work for the park unique.

Time spent in the park is a work day well spent. Photography, videography, design and web management are what allow me to work with a wide variety of people to share information to the public to help protect this land and it’s story.

As an intern for the National Park Service, I worked closely with the interpretive ranger department at Mesa Verde National Park. I primarily ran the social media, showcasing what the park has to offer internally and externally. I had the privilege to design two museum boards for the NPS Centennial in the Mesa Verde museum, the first museum in the National Park Service system. I also created posters and graphics used throughout the park to create a sleek, modern look that was easy to understand for any and all visitors.

Design

Maintaining brand standards throughout my work is important no matter the medium. The objective is to instill stewardship of this land and it’s human history. Content I have created adorns the walls of Los Angeles International Airport, official National Park Service web and app services, and way-finding throughout the mountains.

Photography

One of the main priorities of working for the park system, is maintaining up to date images of resources. The pictures I take are used in web, print and social media assets and serve as historic reference for the future. I have the opportunity to take landscapes of the most beautiful parts of the United States, as well as document the history culture that is ever present in those areas.

Videography

In effort to share each parks story, I have produced videos that have the ability to reach a much wider audience than the park system has traditionally. Typically, visitors to the park are able to attend in person ranger talks that often include hiking. While it is an immersive experience, my goal is to ensure accessibly across physical, fiscal and geographical boundaries.
