The Service
Since 2001, Equestrian Connection has been changing lives and providing services to those who need it most.
Equestrian Connection is a therapy center. EC provides different therapies facilitated with and without horses. With the opportunity to create for a place I have volunteered at since 2010, I have been able to aide in the visual communications to help raise awareness and funds as well as the rebranding for the newest era of EC.
Design
There was a strong need for a rebrand at Equestrian Connection. With the business growing and the demographic reach expanding, it was important to create a look that was easily recognized. As a non profit, it was essential to connect with donors by showing professionalism. At the same time, we needed to ensure a softness and welcome feeling with the brand to bring a comfort to clients seeking service.
The essence of the business was poured into the 2008 logo where a young boy wearing a helmet is hugging a horse. While Equestrian Connection (EC) was adding different service opportunities, the facility was built on the connection between human and horse. After much discussion, it was imperative that we keep this representation in the logo. Below is how I simplified the logo into a mark that successfully represented Equestrian Connection.

“Each year, Equestrian Connection therapy services positively impact the lives of thousands of mentally, emotionally and physically challenged children and adults! Their “Best Days Happen Here” -at our 26,000 square-foot, warm and loving Lake Forest, Illinois facility where Equestrian Connection clinically-licensed occupational and physical therapists, social workers, clinical psychologists, and a professional staff of instructors excel.”
In addition to developing a new brand, I completely updated their website from scratch in order to reach an even wider audience, bring in digital donation opportunities and share information about our services offered.
It was important to build a user friendly site so that it was sustainable to maintain for any person who worked at the facility. Since I left in 2019, the website has been maintained with ease. Color ways, fonts and formatting were adjusted in a way that make any information and updates added feel cohesive and part of the initial build.
Videography
Sharing the impact EC sees everyday was integral in generating enough money to continue making a difference. I produced videos in conjunction with Leroy Koetz for fundraising efforts.
